Bhopal High Court stays sacking of NHM staff

BHOPAL: The removal of contractual employees of NHM, engaged under the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel free medicine distribution scheme, was halted by the High Court on Wednesday. Thousands of staffers were removed by the NHM against which a petition was filed in the High Court by 14 employees. The court has stayed the removal of employees till further orders.

Ramesh Rathore, president, Madhya Pradesh Samvida Karmachari Mahasangh, informed that NHM has been claiming that the decision was taken because of the shortage of funds but the fact is the budget is procured by the NHM from the central government. “If the state doesn’t have budget, why only support staff was removed after the appraisal? The test results were not made public. We even found irregularities in the tests. Now when the High Court has stayed the removal, we are hopeful of positive results”, he said.
