BHOPAL: Alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior, Chambal, Jabalpur and Sagar divisions. Besides, various districts like Bhopal, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Badwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Agar, Neemuch and Mandsaur are likely to record heavy rain in next 24 hours.
Scattered light to moderate rain was recorded in east and southeast Madhya Pradesh. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over parts of east and South Madhya Pradesh. Scattered light to moderate rain may occur over west Madhya Pradesh.††
In the last 24 hours, Gauampura recorded 11cm rainfall, while Dhar recorded 10cm rainfall and Varaseoni 9cm rainfall. Balaghat, Hatpipalia, Kalapipal and Sehore recorded 7cm rainfall each. Sidhi, Bargi, Churhat recorded 5cm rainfall each.
As per meteorological department, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Northwest Bihar and adjoining parts of Northeast Uttar Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is over South Bangladesh and the adjoining parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal. A western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation is over Northern parts of Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. A north-south trough is extending from cyclonic circulation over northwest Bihar to Telangana across Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha.
