Bhopal: Calling Subhash Chandra Bose as first Prime Minister of undivided India, Nitaji’s grandson, Chandra Kumar Bose, said that had Congress supported Azad Hind Sarkar constituted, India would have got freedom in 1944. Bose was addressing lecture series being organized in memory of Netaji SC Bose at Samanvay Bhavan on Sunday.
Alleging that Indira Gandhi destroyed four crucial documents related to Netaji in 1971, Bose said that no PM has right to destroy any papers. The present NDA government has assured to constitute special team to explore actual history of India, he added. Stating that Netaji defeated Mahatma Gandhi-backed candidate Pattabhi Sitaramayya and became the last president of Indian National Congress, Bose accused Rahul Gandhi of damaging the entire culture of Congress by introducing ‘select’ culture.
Due to differences with colleagues, Netaji had resigned from president post but later he was expelled by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru and his team from the party. Earlier, the Congress was platform fighting for freedom, how it has become a political party, said Netaji’s grandson. India can develop by adapting Netaji’s ideology—of indigenous heritage and culture. After expulsion from Congress, Netaji floated Forward block which later joined hands with Communist Party which was a big blunder as Communist never accepted Netaji’s ideology, he added.
Major General GD Bakshi said that India got freedom because of Subhash Chandra and not Mahatma Gandhi. Non-violence movement did not help from any angle in the freedom struggle, he added.
