BHOPAL: Afraid of losing jobs after the government lifted ban on transfers, the Guest Scholar Association has asked the higher education minister to consider their working with sympathy and not to end their services with the transfer of regular professors.
"We have been serving the government, students and colleges for the past two decades. The transfers of regular professors could cost us our jobs. Any one transferred in our place will render us jobless," said association state president Devraj Singh.
Singh said that the state government hasnít made any policy for the welfare of guest scholars despite their long services. ìThe guest scholars will be forced to take extreme steps, if they lose jobs,î he said.
Singh said that about 500 guest scholars are already in the ëfallen outí category. The transfer session could lead to more scholars being thrown out of the jobs, he added.
