Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Government Railway Police here arrested a notorious criminal involved in theft from a train passenger. Police nabbed the culprit on Sunday and recovered the stolen valuables from him.
The accused has cases of serious offences including murder against him, police officials said.
Bhopal GRP station incharge Zaheer Khan said a couple was travelling to Puri by Humsafar Express train on July 18. The couple found their purse missing when the train left Bhopal railway station. The purse contained jewellery, watch, two mobiles worth Rs 1.56 lakh.

The complainant Aman Agarwal of Burhanpur registered a case in Indore but investigation was transferred to Bhopal. Khan said a police team was constituted, which scanned the CCTV footages at the railway station that revealed a suspect coming out of the coach B-5.
The suspect was identified as Rizwan Golden, a resident of Tila Jamalpura area. Following a tip off, Rizwan was arrested by GRP team with stolen valuables.
Rizwan has past criminal record with 13 cases of murder, sexual harassment, attempt to murder, thefts, loots etc registered against him. Rizwan informed police that he used to board trains and decamp with belongings of passengers who were asleep.
