Police Commissioner Bhopal, Makrand Deuskar has said that all the girls should be given opportunities in the family as well as help them to move forward in society. Parents should also be convinced to shun the old beliefs so that girls get equal opportunities to fulfil their dreams, he adds.
Deuskar was speaking on the concluding day of 15-day camp ‘Srijan –ek pahal shakti se surakhsa ki oor’ at St. Raphael School’s auditorium in the city on Wednesday.
City Police Bhopal and Uday Social Development Society jointly organised the 15 days training workshop for the adolescent girls wishing to join the police force.
The entire training was held from June 14 to 28 helped the 107 girls of Bagmugalia and Jatkhedi slums of Bhopal to choose their future career.
Director of Uday Society, Sister Lizy Thomas said that through this effective
training, the girls from the economically weaker and deprived communities got a direction and opportunity for recruitment in the police force for their future. She also added that this was the first time in Bhopal this type of training was conducted by police and civil society in this pattern.
The training curriculum included physical training, Judo, Karate, Yoga,
Constitution, IPC, Women's Rights, Child Protection, Constitutional values, career guidance, duties and types of police Training, traffic rules etc.
Kumari Khusi Sonawane, Tanisha Mandal, Suman Diwakar, Shruti Ingle shared their positive experiences of the training and their learning. The parents also shared their opinion about the training by Ratiram Diwakar and Sheela Sahu. “Our daughters brought honour and it is a matter of pride for us,” they said.
Chief guest Deuskar presented certificates to 107 girls. Prizes were awarded to 18 girls who won in the sports competitions like 100 metre run, ball throw, chair race, long jump, held during the camp..
The other guests were DCP Headquarters Vineet Kapoor, DCP Shraddha Tiwari Zone 2, Richa Chobe, additional DCP, Nidhi Saxena ACP, Amit Kumar Mishra ACP, Vikram Singh Raghuvanshi ACP, NGO Partners were also present. More than 750 people from the community participated in the function.
