BHOPAL: A minor girl was raped by four persons, including three minors, for over six months. The accused raped the girl on different occasions in her village, blackmailing the minor. The incident came to light when she was found pregnant.

The victim lives in Sarwar village under Ratibad police station. She told the police that one of the accused was known to her as they used to attend the same Anganwadi.

The accused raped her in October 2020 and told his friends about the incident. The other accused started raping her, blackmailing the girl that they would reveal everything if she breathed a word of it to anyone.

However, this accused spoke about it to one other minor boy and he, too, started blackmailing the girl and started sexually exploiting the minor since then.

The exploitation did not stop here and he spoke about it to one other accused, Akash aka Akku Sen, 21, and he, too, threatened and raped her.

The girl told the police that the accused would call her and rape her in the fields on different occasions.

The police said she did not tell any of her family members or friends about the incident as she was scared.

The incident came to light when she complained of stomach ache and was taken to hospital. The doctors found she was pregnant and they informed the police as she was a minor.

The girl was counselled and she spoke about the crime. The Ratibad police were informed and two cases were registered. The police have booked the accused under Sections 376 DA, 376 (2) N, 3, 4, and 5G, 5L and 6 of the POCSO Act.

SHO Sudesh Tiwari said the girl was being counselled.
