Bhopal: Hiring a helicopter for marriage function is no longer confined to elites, as a city-based marginal farmer here took his son’s baraat in a chopper. Opening his ‘coffers’, Misrod-based farmer Narmada Prasad – who own just 5 acre of land-, shelled out his hard-earned money to make his son’s marriage memorable for all times to come. Prasad rented a helicopter and flew his son’s baraat from Misrod to Shajapur district. The farmer spent Rs 3 lakh for to- and fro journey.
As per family, it is not very costly affairs as anyone can now spent a little bit extra making a the wedding an affair to remember for all times to come. We have heard people in Chhattisgarh and others states also hiring choppers to ferry baraat. An elated father of bridegroom, Prasad, who merely owns 5 acre land, said, “My son after pursuing MLA joined Capital One (a firm dealing in used car) in Bhopal as manager. My main object is to show that such luxuries are within reach of even middle class families. It is not patent of elite class and politicians.” A proud farmer said, “I own just 5 acre of land and despite it, we decided to take helicopter on rent to make my son marriage a memorable in family. We booked copper from Misrod to Shajapur, for Rs 3 lakh which is not a costly affair. Anyone can afford that much to make the marriage memorable for all times to come.” It is within reach of even middle class family, said Prasad as even people in other states are taking their baraat in choppers and planes so we too decided to take our son’s marriage party in helicopter, said Prasad.
