Bhopal: Doctors threaten to strike work from March 1

Bhopal: Doctors of all the medical colleges of the state have threatened to go on strike from March 1 if the 7th pay commission benefits were not given to them. Protesting medicos handed over a memorandum to GMC dean Dr Aruna Kumar on Monday.

As per MP Medical college teachers association, before the Assembly elections, government had promised for pay revised pay as per the 7th pay commission recommendations before assembly elections but so far nothing concrete has been done. Government has passed the buck to medical education department and higher education department.

From March 1, professors, assistant professors, demonstrators will stage sit-in at GMC gate demanding fulfillment of their demand. A delegation led by Dr Sanjiv Gaur met Dean GMC Dr Kumar and handed over memorandum informing about their future demonstration.

Besides, professors assembled at the main gate of GMC and paid tributes to martyrs of Pulwama terror attack. Expressing their solidarity with the families of the martyred soldiers, the professors, assistant professors said that the time has come when the terrorists should be given befitting reply.
