Bhopal: DNQ’s live concert delights music lovers

BHOPAL: A live concert of Mauritian band Dean Nookadu Quintet (DNQ) delighted the music lovers at Bharat Bhawan on Sunday. The group enthralled the huge gathering with presentation of traditional and contemporary tunes of Mauritious along with Indian Ocean rhythms.

It was part of 8th Delhi International Jazz festival, jointly organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in association with directorate of culture and Bharat Bhavan.

The Dean Nookadu Quartet was created in 2014 is from Mauritius. This quartet, proposes original songs and arrangements of standards developed from the melodic and rythmic idioms of the traditional music of the Indian Ocean Islands. They began with Blues Marlin and followed it with Metijazz, Tantrum, Anibrass, C.U, Mumbai in July by Midnight, High on Five and Mosega.

The group features Nel Bucktowar on Saxophone, Denis Serre on base guitar, Fabrice Ramalingum on drums and Dean Nookadu- on piano.
