Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A delivery boy of an e-commerce company was assaulted and injured by some SUV-borne men who first hit his bike on 11-mile bridge under Misrod police station. It is alleged that the assailants were employees of a liquor company who assaulted the victim on suspicion of illegal liquor smuggling. A case has been registered against unidentified assailants and efforts were underway to trace them, police said.
According to reports, Ritwik Kushwaha (20), resident of Jahangirabad area works as a delivery boy in an e-commerce company. On Tuesday afternoon, Ritwik had gone to Misrod area for delivering goods. He was on 11-mile bridge when a SUV hit his bike from behind. Ritwik fell from his vehicle and was assaulted by persons in the SUV.
Commuters called police and admitted Ritwik to hospital. Some locals claimed that the assailants were employees of a liquor company. However, police officials said the delivery boy was injured after being hit by the SUV. CCTV footages in the area were being scanned to identify the attackers, officials added.
It is worth mentioning, that four days earlier a woman died and her son was injured when their bike was hit by a SUV in Kolar area. It was alleged that employees of a liquor company were chasing some persons in another SUV. The two vehicles collided resulting in the death of the woman.
