Bhopal: Corporate house relief for Covid-hit families

Hindustan Power announces Rs 30,000-Rs 50,000 p.m. for 3 years to the family members of those who died of Covid. Birla Group sends Rs 45 lakh for district hospital in Chhatarpur.

BHOPAL: Corporate house and industries are now coming forward and providing relief to Covid-stricken families, besides providing financial assistance to hospitals to arrange for Covid-related facilities.

Hindustan Power has announced financial support for all employees, including contract staff, who succumbed to Covid-19. The company is providing one-time support of Rs 8-10 lakh per employee to each family and also continuous financial support for the well-being of the family due to the loss of an earning member. Hindustan Power will also make an additional monthly payment in the range of Rs 35,000-Rs 50,000 for the next three years. This will also help cover living expenses, besides the education of children left behind.

For employees who have recovered from Covid, in addition to healthcare insurance benefits, the company is providing interest-free financial loans and special paid leave. The company has been providing critical medical equipment to all its employees and has also created hospitalisation facilities at its plant in Anuppur. The company has already organised three vaccination camps in Anuppur for vaccination of its employees, contractors and their families.

President of Thermal, Hindustan Power, Lalit Jain said, ìWe stand firmly with our employees and are committed to their well-being and social security. Employee welfare and care of their loved ones is our top priority in these difficult times.

Birla Group sends Rs 45 lakhs

Essel Mining and Industries Ltd, a unit of the Aditya Birla Group, which has won the tender for diamond mining in Buxwaha in Chhatarpur district, has sent Rs 45 lakh to the collector to purchase medical equipment related to Covid-19.

The Birla Group has sent Rs 25 lakh for medical equipment for the district hospital at Chhatarpur and another Rs 20 lakh for the community health centre at Buxwaha.

Moreover, it has also provided two vehicles (four-wheelers) for three months for the vaccination drive at Buxwaha and its nearby areas.
