BHOPAL: The Chhola Mandir police on Thursday arrested two youths from Kalyan Nagar while they were gambling and recovered Rs 38,700 from their possession.
SHO, Chhola Mandir police station, Sujeet Tiwari said both the arrested accused have been identified as Rajesh Peter and Asad Khan. Both of them hail from Roshanpura area and were said to be habitual gamblers.
Their arrest was made based specific inputs from police informer that both the habitual gamblers were seen gambling in Kalyan Nagar area. Acting on the tip-off, a police team cordoned off the area and arrested Peter and Khan.
During checking, Rs 38,700 cash, playing cards and betting slips were seized from their possession. Later both the accused were brought to the police station and were booked under relevant sections of the Gambling Act.
Youth arrested for selling liquor illegally
Ashoka Garden police have arrested a youth along with Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 18,000 which he was selling illegally in Industrial area. According to police sources, the arrested accused has been identified as Taalim Ali who was nabbed by police as he didn’t posses any license or permit to sell IMFL.
