Bhopal: Congress to celebrate Panchayat Raj Day as Chintan Diwas

Bhopal: Congress will celebrate the National Panchayat Raj Day on April 24 as a Chintan Diwas. Prime minister Narendra Modi will address the representatives of the Panchayat Raj on the day in Mandla. This day marks the passing of the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 that came into force with effect from 24 April 1993 has institutionalized Panchayati Raj through the village, intermediate and district level panchayats.

The Congress state president Arun Yadav had instructed all the block and district units to celebrate the day as a Chintan Diwas. On April 24, a meeting will be called in which the public representatives including MLAs, MPs, (present and formers) local bodies representatives and others will discuss the values of the Panchayat Raj. He stated that the opposition is trying to suppress the rights of the Panchayat Raj, but the Congress party is the real supporter of the Raj in the state as well in the nation.
