The manifesto of Congress which is expected to be released on Saturday is expected to focus on a large base. Congress is expected to announce smartphones for women besides providing free power to the poor and slashing electricity rates by half for common man. According to highly placed sources, Congress is expected to announce a smartphone for women between the age group of 15-50.
“Congress’ priority is safety of women. Mobile phone too is an effective tool in hands of women,” said a senior leader from Delhi. According to sources in its attempt to please masses, Congress is also expected to announce free electricity for the poor. To suppress resentment among middle-class, Congress has decided to slash electricity prices by half for common people. Sources said that electricity tariff is one of the major issues, touching and affecting almost every household therefore this move is considered as a masterstroke.
“Arvind Kejriwal took almost similar route in Delhi to woo the voters,” added the leader. Congress will release its manifesto as Vachan Patra. It is expected to focus on employment generation and agriculture. Party has prepared an inter-district channel grid connection plan to provide potable water to all across the state.
The manifesto committee has prepared a plan for developing agriculture corridors across the state that would try to remove middlemen from agriculture chain. Agriculture processing units too would be a part of it besides providing jobs to unemployed local youth. It’s highly likely that Congress could come up with some kind of financial incentive for the unemployed youth.
Notably, Congress state president Kamal Nath had already announced opening of gaushalas at block level across the state. Ram van gaman path too has been championed by the Congress and is sure to find a prominent place in its Vachan Patra. AICC president Rahul Gandhi has already announced loan waiver for farmers within ten days of forming of government in MP.
