The heartbeats of political leaders are thumping even faster as the date of announcement of election results approaches.
The confidence exhibited by Congress leaders this time has made BJP leaders nervous. BJP was more confident of its victory than Congress in 2008 and 2013 assembly elections while Congress wasn’t.
According to experts BJP may face decline in its tally of seats this time. According to estimates BJP may face biggest damage in Gwalior, Chambal and Vindhya regions while there is possibility of comparatively less damage in Malwa-Nimar, Madhya Bharat, Mahakaushal and Bundelkhand.
State Congress chief Kamal Nath and ex- CM Digvijaya Singh are strongly claiming victory. The confidence of these leaders is putting suspicion in the minds of the BJP leaders. According to sources looking at the excitement in Congress’ camp, the BJP is seeking feedback from rural areas on the basis of figures of farmers’ loan, to learn on what issues people voted in favour of Congress. It is also being assessed if any undercurrent is working in promise made by Congress to the farmers on loan waiver.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS), sensing tough contest from Congress this time, took charge of the elections. According to sources it has worked in the the BJP’s favour on identified seats, mainly belong to Malwa region. BJP leaders fear that farmers are inclined towards Congress over its promise of loan waiver. The polling percentage in elections had increased in rural areas. Both the BJP and the RSS, are busy getting information about the scenario in MP through its workers.
