Sehore: There is considerable resentment among people, particularly traders, against the GST implemented by the Centre from July 1. To protest against the move, the Congress leaders of the district got their head tonsured. Saeed Lal Mansuri, a local Congress leader, speaking at a gathering at the Congress office at bus stand on Friday leveled serious allegations at the BJP governments in the centre and the state. He said GST was hurtful to the interests of the public and traders both. Lala said the new measure would trigger inflation and become a source of harassment for small traders not well-versed in the use of computers and accounting procedures.
He said business was already down and would suffer further. He said GST had been implemented in haste and without taking into account the fact that a vast body of small traders in the country were not tech-savvy and didn’t have the resources to hire the services of professional accountants or financial consultants.
