Bhopal: Complete school infrastructure for eight aspirational districts by March

BHOPAL: The school education department has instructed the collectors of eight aspirational districts to complete the gaps in school infrastructure in their districts by March 2021.

In a recent update done by the school education department several shortcomings in school infrastructure was highlighted after which commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra expressed his displeasure over it and has now asked them to complete it within this financial year.

Eight aspiration districts identified by the NITI Aayog include Barwani, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Khandwa, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Singrauli and Guna. Biggest lacuna has come forward in the form of electrification of schools. As many as 7565 schools in these districts are without power. Moreover, 226 schools are without their own buildings.

There are 549 schools in these 8 districts that do not have separate girls toilets and 662 schools does not have boys toilets. In all 245 schools do not have arrangements of drinking water.

Commissioner, Lokesh Jatav has instructed collectors of these districts who are also mission directors to complete the lapses in infrastructure in this financial year ending March 2021.
