Bhopal: Keeping in view that the accused is on judicial remand till August 29 the District and sessions court, on Tuesday, put off the charge sheet against accused Ashwini Sharma, for a day. Ashwini Sharma, director of a hostel for deaf and mute persons in Awadhpuri area, is on judicial remand, for allegedly raping differently abled girls at his hostel including a 20-year-old deaf and mute tribal girl of Dhar district.
Complainant alleged that the accused had raped her repeatedly during her stay at the hostel over the past three years. She lodged a complaint with Dhar police and the case was then transferred to Awadhpuri police station. However, there are four complaints and Dhar girl’s complaint is one of them.
The charge sheet was put up in the court after getting district prosecution officer’s (DPO) nod. District Prosecution Officer (DPO) KK Saxena said, “We have cleared the charge-sheet in which charges under 354, 345(a), 344 (illegal confinement), 323, 376, 376(2n), 376(2d), 376(2L), 374 of IPC, and 3(2) v of SC/ST Act. In fact, 374 of IPC read unlawful compulsory labour. 376 of IPC read rape, 354 reads outraging modesty, 344 reads wrongful confinement and 506 read criminal intimidation”.
