After Bhopal and Raisen the issue of CCTV cameras malfunctioning had come to fore in Mandla district. The Congress candidate from Bichia constituency of Mandla district had filed a complaint to the district returning officer alleging that the CCTV cameras of the strong room stopped working for four hours on December 4.
The candidate, Narayan Singh Patta said Congress workers are sitting and watching the cameras continuously, to prevent any manipulations. He claimed that on December 4, the camera went off from 2.55 pm to 6.30 pm. On the screen the camera time remained still, but footage kept on recording. He alleged that the closing of the camera had raised suspicions that someone had manipulated the strongroom. He sought permission to visit strongroom and action be taken against officials concerned in the matter.
