BHOPAL: Despite the mortality rate going down, still, 1,401 Covid-19 patients continue to battle for life at the Intensive care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) in various public as well as private hospitals of Madhya Pradesh.
Similarly, 1529 patients are on oxygen supported beds in various medical facilities in the state. Corona cases are on decline in state, but these 2,930 patients continue to be in critical condition. With the unlocking, markets and city roads are witnessing a heavy rush and many people are seen violating the Corona protocols. As the Corona wake is receding, people should not lower their guards and take all necessary precautions while getting out of the house.
There are 9,789 ICU beds and 24,377 oxygen supported beds in the state. †During April and till May people were moving from pillar to post looking for oxygen bed, deaths rate was at high.
Dr ID Chaurasia, neurologist Hamidia Hospital, said, "Now medicines and Remdesivir are also available. Earlier, beds were not available, even oxygen, Remdesivir, and other medicines were in short supply. The fatality rate was high then. But still, many patients are in the ICU. In Hamidia Hospital, 100 patients are still in the ICU."
People should not take things for granted believing that corona has disappeared, cautioned the doctor adding that people should take care and adhere to Covid protocol.
