Bhopal Breaking: 40 Students, Driver Injured After Truck Hits School Bus On Bypass; Four Critical

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A truck allegedly rammed into a school bus from behind in Bhopal, leaving around 40 students and the driver injured. Also, three to four students are said to be in a critical condition.

According to information, the accident occurred on Friday, at Khajuri Sadak bypass in Bhopal. The bus was carrying around 40 students of People's School of Research and Technology, studying in class 9 to 12. They were out for an industry visit.

All the injured were rushed to a private hospital in Bhainsa Khaidi with the help of local villagers.

It is said that the accident occurred around 2 pm, when the bus was near a private company’s premises in Bhauri. The impact was so severe that the rear part of the bus was completely destroyed.

FP Photo According to eye-witnesseses, the truck was overspeeding at the time of the accident. The bus, moving at a moderate speed, was hit from behind and dragged for several meters before the truck finally stopped. The truck driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the crash.

After witnessing the accident, local villagers rescued the trapped students and transported them to two different private hospitals for treatment.

The condition of several students is said to be critical.. Some have sustained fractures and head injuries. 

Police have started investigating the incident and searching for the absconding truck driver.
