Bhopal: The four day session of state assembly ended with a good news for city. Health education minister Vijaylaxmi Sadho announced opening of organ transplant unit in the state capital within six months. Sadho made the announcement while presenting a resolution in the House on long pending Organ Donation Amendment bill 2011.
Sadho informed the House that a kidney transplant unit will be opened in Bhopal. Faculties and other requirements have been fulfilled and the unit will start within 6 months, she added.The minister also cleared the apprehension of Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava when the latter said that he hoped that the Bill does not increase complications while donating organs.
Department sources said organ transplant unit will start with kidney transplant and later heart, liver cornea and bone-marrow transplants will also be done here.
