BHOPAL: Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) is preparing a proposal to hike the fares by at least 3 per cent to 5 per cent for public transport. The last fare hike was made on February 22, 2014.  BCLL executive officer Sanjay Soni said, “BCLL has not increased any fare for the last five years. So it is very necessary to increase the fare. We are preparing for a hike in the range of 3-5 per cent.“

Currently, maximum fare is Rs 20 from origin to destination. BRTS covers over 54 kilometers on the longest route- SR7 which connects Gandhinagar and Patel Nagar Bypass. “We will put up the proposal and ultimately, which authorities concerned, like RTO and collector, will fianlise. It will be nominal hike so that passengers will not face any major problems to pay the fare,” he added.
