The notification for Assembly elections-2018 will be issued on Friday. According to announcement of Election Commission, polling would be held on November 28 while counting of votes would take place on December 11.

Nomination forms would be submitted from November 2-9 at the office of returning officer. A candidate could submit maximum four sets of nomination forms. While submitting nomination form, a candidate could bring maximum 3 vehicles and maximum 5 persons (including the candidate) within 100 metre radius of the office of returning officer.

The final list of the candidates contesting elections, after the process of name withdrawal, would be announced on November 14. Security money of Rs 10,000 will be deposited by the candidates contesting elections. This security would be Rs 5000 for the candidates of SC-ST categories.

Form A and Form B should also be given with nomination form to the returning officer. A candidate has to submit an affidavit with format-26 including information about his criminal record, if any, details of PAN, status of submitting I-T returns, properties owned by the candidates, his wife and all dependents, their liabilities towards government and public finance agencies, details of candidate’s profession or livelihood and candidates highest qualification.

Each candidate will get a separate bank account for election expenses. It can also be opened jointly with election agent. It is necessary to take oath before the returning after submitting nomination form. During scrutiny of nomination forms on November 12, the candidate, his election agent, one proposer and one more person, who has been authorised, could be present. The returning officer will scrutinise each nomination form. For transparency the scrutiny process would be video-graphed.
