BHOPAL: Two persons were hacked to death in Nazeerabad on Monday. A 50-year-old man was axed to death allegedly by his son and daughter-in-law, while in the second incident reported in the area, a 23-year-old was killed by his friend over a monetary dispute. Police have arrested the couple and the youth's friend for the killings.
Karan Singh, a resident of Bhatni village in Nazeerabad, was axed to death allegedly by his son and daughter-in-law following an altercation over dinner preparation on Monday night.
Singh entered into an argument with his son Bhagwan Singh Tanwar over a non-vegetarian meal prepared by his daughter-in-law Adhikabai for the dinner. The woman had not cooked chapatis and Singh was adamant on having chapatis. This led to a verbal argument between the three around 9 pm.
The verbal spat turned violent as Tanwar hit his father with an axe. His wife Adhikaribai also helped him in the attack. Singhís 12-year-old son Panchhilal tried to intervene but the couple hit him with an axe too.
The couple fled from the spot leaving the two in a pool of blood. Pancchilal, who had sustained serious injuries, managed to call his neighbors. The duo was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.
Pancchilal is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Nazeerabad police have booked the couple for murder and added Sections of attempt to murder for seriously injuring the minor. SHO BP Singh said the couple was arrested in the night.
Man hacks friend to death over monetary dispute, held
In another incident in Nazeerabad, a 23-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his friend over a monetary dispute. The incident occurred in Singhada village. The deceased, Babulal aka Golu Ahirwar lived with his family in the village. The accused, identified as Radheyshyam Meher, had a monetary dispute with Babulal. On Monday afternoon, Ahirwar was standing at the roadside when Meher approached him carrying an axe. The duo entered into a verbal duel and soon Meher started hitting Ahirwar with his axe.
Ahirwar fell on the road and began to bleed profusely. A shopkeeper who was standing nearby informed police and a team reached the spot. The critically injured victim was admitted to the hospital, however, he died during treatment later, police said. SHO BP Singh said the accused was arrested later.
