Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-year-old girl received relief after enduring months of alleged harassment, with the arrest of the accused on Friday, according to Nishatpura police.

The accused, identified as Kasim, resides in Awas Vikas Colony, where the girl and her family previously rented a house.

Family moved into the accuser's home 9 months ago

Police station's in-charge Rupesh Dubey said that the harassment began approximately nine months ago when the girl's family moved into the accuser's home. Kasim allegedly initiated inappropriate interactions with the minor, which escalated into ongoing harassment, including violently intercepting her and demanding conversations.

Family relocates, accused resumed his actions

Despite the girl's family raising concern with Kasim's relatives, his disturbing behaviour continued. In an attempt to escape the situation, the family decided to relocate. However, just two days after moving, Kasim allegedly resumed his actions, prompting the family to file an official complaint with the Nishatpura police station on Friday evening.

Accused arrested

Police responded quickly to the complaint, filed a case against Kasim under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was arrested and subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
