BHOPAL : Onscreen siblings Neeraj Malaviya and Charu Asopa of Star Plus show ‘Mere Angne Mein’ got engaged and will tie the knot within a year.
Speaking to media persons Neeraj said, “We exchanged rings on February 17 in Bhopal. We haven’t fixed a date for the wedding but it will happen anytime before February 2017.”
They have been dating since Neeraj proposed to Charu on his birthday in June last year. He says, “We knew each other before we fell in love. A common friend tried to get us together, but as they say, `everything happens at the right time. It’s only after we started working together, did we feel strongly for each other. “So, why didn’t they admit to their relationship earlier? We felt that it was too early to admit to being in a relationship,” he replies.
Talking about what brought them together, Neeraj says, “She is from Bikaner and I am from Bhopal. We realised that we had common interests and a similar upbringing. Also, she can speak chaste Hindi, something I always wanted my partner to be good at.”
“Even if we are in the same frame, I will be a thorough professional. I guess Charu might have a problem though. For a scene, she had to call me `Amit bhaiya’, so she chose to address me as Amitji instead,” he laughs.
