Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): BJP’s state unit president VD Sharma has taken the Congress to task over its event on Baba Ambedkar to be held in Mhow. Sharma said on Saturday that before going to Mhow, Rahul Gandhi should tender an apology to the nation.

Although the Congress ruled the country for 55 years, it never honoured Ambedkar, he said. The Congress has always spread lies and created misconception among people, Sharma said, adding that the party insulted the SC community by calling it speechless.

About Jitu Patwari’s remark on Amit Shah, Sharma said the Congress leader should know what he is saying and about whom he is saying. It was Baba Sahib who had told that the Congress always thought about the Muslims, but never thought of SC/ST communities, Sharma said.

On the other hand, the BJP is not working for vote politics, but to carry out the ideals of Gandhi and Baba Sahib, Sharma said.

BJP Should Take Out Mafi Yatra, Not Samvidhan Gourav Yatra: Congress

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): State Congress President Jeetu Patwari on Saturday said that the BJP should take out a "Mafi Yatra" (penance march) rather than its planned "Samvidhan Gourav Yatra." Speaking to the media, Patwari said that instead of celebrating the yatra, the BJP should apologise for its past actions.

He suggested that BJP leaders should express remorse by rubbing their noses on the statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution. Patwari criticised BJP and the RSS for repeatedly attempting to alter the Constitution, accusing them of undermining its values.

He announced that the Congress party will organise the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ yatra on January 27 in Mhow. Ahead of this, block-level meetings will be held on January 17, followed by divisional meetings by January 20, and a gathering of all party leaders for final preparations by January 25. Patwari stated that the event aims to mobilise over one lakh people to unite in defence of the Constitution.
