Dindori (Madhya Pradesh): A school building's balcony collapsed in Dindori on Monday late night. This incident happened only a day after portions of ceiling fell in the classroom at a government school in Jabalpur on Monday morning. These back-to-back incidents revealed the poor condition of school infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh which crumbled to rains.
Balcony of an integrated Secondary School of Bajag Tehsil area collapsed unexpectedly on Monday night anid rains. The accident took place in the night after school hours; fortunately no injury was reported.
About 125 students study in this school, a major accident was averted because of time.
In a video of the incident site, the parapet of the school's balcony could be seen crumbled and a pile of bricks scattered on the ground, indicating the dilapidated infrastructure of schools.

According to a data, about 556 school buildings in the district need repair, unfortunately, but renovation work has been repeatedly delayed due to prolonged budget constraints.
Jabalpur School's roof crumbles
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Monday morning, a roof in a Jabalpur's school crumbled mid-class amid heavy rain. Fortunately, no students were hurt as they were quickly shifted to other rooms.
Teachers claim they have been raising complaints with the Collector and District Education Officer for years, but no action has been taken.
Such frequent incidents amid heavy monsoon expose the grim reality of poor infrastructure in schools of the state.
