They should contest from seats other than their bastions”
BHOPAL: Former MP and Congress leader Aslam Sher Khan has said the Congress should field senior leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamalnath and Digvijay Singh in the general elections from the parliamentary constituencies other than those where they have base for bagging more seats from Madhya Pradesh.
Former union minister Aslam said Jyotiraditya Scindia should contest election from Vidisha parliamentary seat against leader of opposition Sushma Swaraj for wresting the seat for the party. ” Scindia is strong candidate in Vidisha and can contest election against Sushma Swaraj. It will boost workers as well as senior leaders like him contest elections against BJP’s big name,” he said.
He said ” Kamalnath should contest election at Jabalpur leaving his traditional seat Chhindwara.The seats like Chhindwara, Rajgarh and Guna, are known for having strong hold of the Congress and the party’s candidates can secure victory there even.” Khan said he was looking for ticket from Chhindwara or Betul and if party decides, he will contest Lok Sabha election. He said he will hold workers’ convention in Iqbal Maidan on February 9.”
