Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): AIIMS Bhopal has launched a public awareness campaign titled ‘Beat the Heat’ for safety of people from heat stroke.

The objective of this campaign is to educate the general public, patients, and visitors about effective measures to protect themselves from extreme heat.

The tagline of the campaign is - "Heat will retreat, we will defeat! Hategi Garmi, Jeetenge Hum”.

This initiative has been designed especially, keeping in mind the safety of vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals already suffering from illnesses.

As part of the campaign, informative posters and digital displays have been installed throughout the hospital premises, highlighting various important tips that can help prevent heat-related illnesses.

These tips include increasing the intake of fluids and being alert to the symptoms of heatstroke, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight and crowded places, consuming fresh and nutritious food, drinking clean water, staying in shaded areas, and seeking immediate medical attention if any symptoms of heat-related illness are observed.

AIIMS director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh said, “With temperatures soaring above normal, it is vital that we all take precautionary measures seriously. Through this campaign, we aim to educate not just patients but the wider community on how small daily practices can help avoid serious health complications. AIIMS Bhopal is committed to the health and safety of every citizen.” This campaign reinforces AIIMS Bhopal’s dedication to promoting public health and building awareness about preventive healthcare during seasonal challenges like heatwaves.”
