BHOPAL : Mayor Alok Sharma installed a sliding gate near Bagsewania police station in the BRTS Corridor on Tuesday to check the entry of other than BRTS low floor bus. Corporators Kewal Mishra of BJP and Girish Sharma of Congress were also present. Mayor Alok Sharma inaugurated the gate (barrier) at Bagsewania police station. The barrier will remain closed from 11.00 PM to 6:00 AM.
There will be 54 barriers and will be installed at 27 points to check the entry of other vehicles. Barriers will be installed in next 10 days. Besides, CCTV cameras will also be installed. Installation of CCTV cameras will be completed within next two months.
Points where gates will be installed include entry point (Misrod), Shani Mandir, Chinar Fortune, Reliance Fresh, Danish Nagar, Bagsewania police station, BU, RRL, Habibganj Naaka, Habibganj Railway station, Mansarovar Complex, Pragati Petrol pump, Board Office Chowraha, Roshanpura Chowraha, Banganga, Polytechinic Chowraha, Collectorate, Koh-e-Fiza, VIP Guest House, Lal Ghati, Halalpura, Christian cemetery, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bairagarh police station, Chanchal Chowraha, Bairagarh water tank and Kali Mandir.
Mayor said, “Twenty-four kilometer long BRTS Corridor has been developed for the convenience of commuters and only authorised vehicles are permitted to enter the BRTS Corridor. Entry of unauthorised vehicles is responsible for road accidents in BRTS Corridor. Therefore we have decided to install barriers. CCTV cameras will also be installed at crossing points.”
