Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): On the concluding day of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, athletes from Madhya Pradesh delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home five gold, six silver, and one bronze medals.
Their stellar achievements in malkhamb, modern pentathlon, canoeing, wrestling, and hockey secured the state’s position at 4th place in the overall medal tally with total 81 medals including 33 gold, 25 silver, and 23 bronze, capping off a remarkable National Games campaign.

Mallakhamb – A Golden Affair Madhya Pradesh made a significant mark in Mallakhamb, with athletes dominating the podium in both the Individual Women’s and Men’s Categories.
In the women’s apparatus – pole event, Anushka Nayak of Madhya Pradesh claimed gold medal, followed by Rupali of Maharashtra claimed silver.

In the men's apparatus – pole event, Praneet Yadav of Madhya Pradesh won the gold medal and Kundan Kachhawa from Madhya Pradesh won the silver medal. In the women’s all-round individual, Jessica Prajapati and Anushka Nayak, both from Madhya Pradesh won gold and silver respectively.
In men’s all-round individual, Kundan Kachhawa and Devendra Patidar, both from Madhya Pradesh won the gold and silver respectively. In total, Madhya Pradesh's Mallakhamb players bagged six gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals, marking the state’s strongest-ever performance in this sport at the National Games.


Modern Pentathlon – Gold Rush The Modern Pentathlon mixed relay event saw Madhya Pradesh’s dynamic duo, Yash Bathre and Rama Sonkar, securing a thrilling gold medal. With a total of 829 points, they edged out Maharashtra, which scored 824 points to claim silver.

Silver and bronze glory in canoeing In the Women’s Sprint K4 500m category, the Madhya Pradesh team of Nidhi, Daily Bishnoi, Manswani Swain, and L. Meena Devi clocked a time of 1:48.653, securing silver. They narrowly missed the gold by 1.696 seconds to Odisha. In the Men’s Sprint K4 500m, the Madhya Pradesh team of Akshit Baroi, Himanshu Tandon, Ningombam Meetel, and Sachin grabbed the bronze medal.
