Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Continuous rainfall in the catchment area of the Bargi Dam has led to the opening of 8 more gates on Saturday.

With this, a total of 15 gates have now been opened to release the rising water.

Check out the video below :

The dam gates have been opened up to an average height of 1.56 meters to allow safe flow of water.

Officials said that due to the water release, the water level in the Narmada River is expected to rise by up to 10 feet. People living in low-lying areas near the river have been put on alert. Authorities have asked them to stay away from the riverbanks and be ready to move to safer places if needed.

Local administration and disaster response teams are keeping a close watch on the situation. Warning messages and public announcements are being made in nearby villages to inform people about the rising water levels.

Officials have urged the public to remain calm but alert and follow safety instructions.
