In response to rising input cost, Honda Cars India has raised the prices of its City sedan and automatic variants of the Elevate SUV by Rs 20,000. With this price adjustment, the starting price of the Honda City now stands at Rs 12.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The price hike for Honda's Elevate SUV applies exclusively to the automatic variants, while the manual trims remain unchanged. The updated pricing now lists the Elevate V CVT at Rs 13.91 lakh, the VX CVT at Rs 15.30 lakh, and the top-spec ZX CVT at Rs 16.63 lakh, all ex-showroom.

The Honda City offers two distinct petrol powertrains, each catering to different preferences. The hybrid variant stands out with its 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 126hp. On the other hand, the pure petrol version is equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. While the hybrid City enjoys a unique spot in the market without direct competitors, the petrol model takes on established rivals like the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Volkswagen Virtus.

The Honda Elevate, lacking a strong hybrid powertrain, relies on its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the same unit featured in the Honda City. Competing in the bustling midsize SUV market, it challenges popular models such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
