An intense day of the Indian Premiere League came to an end and as expected, England all-rounder Ben Stokes turned to be the most expensive player in the 2017 IPL auction. The all-rounder was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants for whooping Rs 14 crore while Royal Challengers Bangalore shelled out Rs 12 crore to but England pacer Tymal Mills.

Tymal Mills was expected to land a lucrative deal but unexpected to be singed for Rs 12 crore. The other two star signings were of Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult who were signed for Rs 5 crore each. Afghanistan players Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan created historic moment as they become the only Afghanistan players to bag IPL deals. At the auction which was held at Bangalore, total 351 players went under the hammer.
There were disappointment for experienced Indian fast bowlers Ishant Sharma, RP Singh and Irfan Pathan who went unsold. World number 1 T20 and ODI bowler, Imran Tahir also failed to get any bidders. However the owners will submit a list of unsold players they are interested in and will be brought back into the auction. Among the other Indian players, Karn Sharma was picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crores while Varun Aaron bagged a deal of Rs 2.8 crores.
