“True love is always forever”, says Anju Jadhav

She is the versatile actor on the small screen. Anju Jadhav of Sab TV’s popular Dil Deke Dekho speaks with Dhrithi Sudhakar Gulvadi about her show, love, comedy and more…

How do you find television as a medium, being an actor?

Superb! I am enjoying my work. It’s a dream come true. I am doing comedy for the first time, so it’s a different experience. There is no overacting in it, it’s similar to the kind of comedy that happens in normal life and I am getting an opportunity to play the same. I find it very easy and there is no difficulty in it. Initially I was scared but now I am trying my best, so that the audience would like it.

How do you contemplate teenage love?

The kind of energy flavour we have used in the story is that- love is evergreen. We don’t portray short term love, but we are trying to depict that true love is always forever.

People’s reaction towards Dil Deke Dekho.

I have been getting good responses and people are enjoying the show. Just as listening to music refreshes us, the same kind of feeling is exhibited in this show. It brings smile on people’s face when watching the show. People say that they want the show to continue. They love all the stories depicted in the show. Every character is so fresh. I am getting good reviews from the people. I receive a lot of calls and messages regarding the show. People are enjoying a lot.

How challenging is to perform before the senior actors?

I do have few fears because they are senior actors. We are like a family. The senior actors give us tips for best acting. We have improvisations in our scenes. They teach and help us so well. They overcome our fears. All the actors are friendly. We work and enjoy. Such kind of environment on the sets makes our work easy.

Do you think the first show determines the future of an actor?

Yes, the first break in an actor’s career determines the actor’s future work. People notice you in your first work. For me, everyday is a new challenge to perform better. I want to perform more than better so that people are satisfied with my character.

Since you’ve mentioned that it’s the first time that you are playing a comedy role, what kind of preparation did you undergo to do comedy?

Actually, I have watched my co actors’ performances, the timings, punches to be delivered and I also watched few comedy movies. I watch The Kapil Sharma Show.  No comedy is as huge as that show (chuckles). I have observed my co actors and friends and small things that we say in normal lives and I’ve tried to use them in my acts as well. This is how I had to prepare for comedy in order to perform better.
