Noted Malayalam actor Vijayan Peringode passed away today after suffering a heart attack at his residence. He was 66-year-old and made entry in films as a production executive and made around more than 40 cine appearances.
He was a regular face in the movies of senior directors Sathyan Anthikkad and Lal Jose, and he made his acting debut in the year 1983 in a film ‘Asthram’ directed by PN Menon.
He has acted in movies like Meesha Madhavan, Devasuram, Kilichundan Mambazham, Pattalam, Achubinte Amma and Celluloid, which are some of his noted films. Vijayan also assisted Balachandra Menon and IV Sasi in their films.
Vijayan is survived by his wife Chanjalakshi and three children, Kannan, Anadapadmanabhan and Gayathri. Last rites of Vijayan were performed at his hometown Palakkad at 4 pm today.
