Maharashtra Budget 2026: CM Fadnavis Announces Crop Loan Waiver Up To ₹2 Lakh, ₹50K Incentives For Timely-Paying Farmers
Devendra Fadnavis, while presenting the Maharashtra Budget 2026, announced a crop loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh for farmers with arrears until September 2025. Additionally, farmers who have been paying regular instalments will get an incentive of up to ₹50,000, aimed at easing financial burdens and encouraging timely repayment.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on March 6 presented the state budget for 2026-27 in the assembly and became the 1st chief minister to table the budget. While presenting the budget, the Chief Minister launched the Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Shetkari Karjmafi Yojana, under which eligible farmers with pending crop loans as of 30 September 2025 will receive a waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh.
In addition to this, farmers who repay their loans on time will receive a Rs 50,000 incentive grant. The CM said that the scheme aims to provide financial relief to farmers and encourage timely loan repayment.
The waiver announcement also comes at a time when demands for an immediate crop loan waiver intensified following recent heavy rains and floods, which caused severe crop losses across the state.

CM Fadnavis said that as 2026 has been declared as the International Year of Women Farmers, and on this occassion special incentive programs will be implemented for women cowherds, poultry, and goat farmers.

Maharashtra Villages To Be Connected by Concrete Roads
The CM also added that all villages in the state with a population of more than 1,000 will be connected by concrete roads. Maharashtra is the country's financial engine, and will become a USD 5 trillion economy by 2047, he said.
Natural Farming on 5 Lakh Hectares
The Maharashtra government will implement natural farming experiments on 5 lakh hectares under the Maharashtra Natural Farming Scheme. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also announced the launch of the Chief Minister Rural Livestock Scheme. He stated that under the CM Gram Sadak Yojana, 97 per cent of work in the first phase has been completed.
