Mumbai: Amid the Nasrapur case, another shocking incident came to light from Pune's Parvati jurisdiction. A 50-year-old man was found indulging in an obscene act with his granddaughter at their home in the absence of her parents.

According to the initial information and by the residents, the door was half shaded, nearby children caught him doing obscene acts and informed their parents and then local police.

Over the incident, not the public, became aggressive and tried to attack the accused. However, local police intervened and took the accused into custody. Residents came out on the streets of Janta Vasahat, Parvati and Swargate areas demanding strong and swift action against the accused.

While speaking to IANS, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Joint Commissioner of Pune Po, lice said, "The incident took place in the Vasti area of Parvati. The victim has been sent for medical examination, and the accused is in police custody."

Speaking to the crowd that gathered to protest, he said. "The local crowd is urged to allow the police to conduct their legal proceedings without interference, as the gathering is causing obstacles both for the police and for residents trying to return home, leading to traffic congestion. The police is filing an FIR, and the accused has been sent for medical evaluation."

Meanwhile, the case has come amidst a time when the city is already outraged by the rape and murder case of a four-year-old girl in Pune's Nasrapur. The accused Bhimrao Kamble, the 65-year-old, has been sent to police custody till May 7.

According to information received, the girl had come to stay at her grandmother's house for the holidays. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly lured the girl to a cowshed on the pretext of showing her a calf. There, he is suspected of having sexually assaulted her and killed her by crushing her with a stone in an attempt to conceal identity.
