Pimpri-Chinchwad: A shocking incident of gang rape has come to light in the Hinjawadi IT park area, where a case was registered with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police on Wednesday. Over 10 people have been booked by the police after the victim filed a complaint.
A 54-year-old woman has filed a case at Hinjawadi Police Station (under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate). The incident happened on 26th August 2025 at around 11 AM in a house located in the Marunji Road area.
According to police reports, two men forcibly assaulted the victim woman, threatened to kill her and blackmailed her with videos and photos they had taken during the assault.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, a senior official from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police said, “The victim’s daughter had performed a court marriage with one of the young men among the accused." The accused had initially promised to conduct a traditional wedding ceremony. Prior to the marriage, the woman and the man had shared a romantic relationship.”
Police further said that after the court marriage, they refused to take the daughter to her in-laws’ house. The man cited how his family was not accepting the marriage and gave other vague reasons. As an official marriage was already done, to “cancel” the marriage, the accused reportedly offered the woman two flats and two shops, noted the police.
According to the complaint, when the victim woman visited the accused’s home to demand that they take her daughter in as a daughter-in-law and discuss the matter, two individuals assaulted her.

The accused allegedly threatened to kill her and leak videos of the act, stating they would not fulfil the marriage. The victim mentioned that she remained under severe mental stress for a long period. After over seven months since the incident, she finally informed her family and filed the complaint, said police.
The Hinjawadi police are currently investigating the matter.
