Maharashtra: Amit Shah to visit the state this week for Pune’s byelections 

During his visit to the state Shah will hold government and political functions in Nagpur, Pune, and Kolhapur.

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah will be in Maharashtra for two days on February 18 and 19. He will be visiting Nagpur, Pune and Kolhapur with a packed schedule of government and political functions.

His visit is important as Pune is witnessing two assembly by-elections where BJP's prestige is at stake.

Shah will be coming to Nagpur on February 18 where he will visit Dikshabhumi and RSS headquarter. Later in the afternoon, he will fly to Pune where a number of functions are scheduled. He will meet daughters of martyred police officials from Jammu and Kashmir. He will also be participating in a book publication function. The book is on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Shah to inaugurate 'Shivsrushti' on Feb 19

On February 19, he will inaugurate 'Shivsrushti' on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary. Shivsrushti is a museum of sculptures based on the life of the Maratha king. From here, he will fly to Kolhapur to address party workers at Kolhapur Lok Sabha Vijay Sankalp Rally. Also, he will chair the meeting with a few senior BJP leaders from the district.

Elaborate pans on Shiv Jayanti

Meanwhile, state government has decided to celebrate Shiv Jayanti at fort Shivneri. The programs will be held from February 18-20 and more than one lakh people are expected to visit.

On the first day, there will be cultural programs in the evening. On February 19, birth celebration will be held at the fort. In the evening, Maha Shiva Arati is being planned. Also a famous Marathi play Janata Raja will also be played in the evening.

All function will take place as 'Hindavi Swarajya Sohala' and being organised by state's cultural and tourism department.
