Shilpa Shetty Hops On 'Leapord-Dressing' Trend With Wild Looks From The 90s Till Today
Shilpa Shetty revisited her long-standing love for leopard print with a series of photos spanning childhood memories and modern fashion moments. From playful co-ords and Y2K-inspired separates to bikinis, eveningwear and her leopard-print saree, the actress showcased the motif across decades, proving her relationship with the trend began long before animal prints became a 2026 fashion obsession.
Leopard print had officially escaped its wild side and taken over fashion in 2026. From dresses and sarees to bikinis, nails and accessories, the spotted motif had been showing up everywhere, with celebrities including Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria giving it their own contemporary spin. But Shilpa Shetty had a very different claim to the trend: she had been wearing it long before it became the season's favourite print.
The actress took fans on a playful trip through her fashion archives, sharing pictures that traced her relationship with leopard print from childhood to the present day. Her caption summed up the mood perfectly: “Spotted in my natural element 😉🐆... IYKYK 😅 #LeopardPrint.”
It started in childhood
The fashion timeline began with an adorable childhood photograph of Shilpa wearing a leopard-print dress. Even at that age, the bold animal motif had already found its way into her wardrobe, making the print a surprisingly long-running signature.
As she grew older, leopard print returned in much bolder forms. One throwback saw her wearing a red-toned animal-print co-ord featuring a cropped halter-style top and matching bottoms. She kept the accessories elegant and let her voluminous hair and vibrant print take centre stage.
Another look leaned straight into early-2000s glamour. Shilpa wore a fitted animal-print crop top with a matching low-rise bottom, creating a distinctly Y2K silhouette with a structured bustier-like top and exposed midriff.
From wild ethnic dressing to beach glam
Shilpa also proved that animal print did not have to remain confined to Western dressing. In one of the throwback looks, she paired a leopard-print top with a vivid blue dupatta, creating an unexpected mix of colour and pattern.
The actress amplified the Bollywood glamour with oversized statement earrings and a metallic embellished handbag, turning the unconventional combination into a distinctly dramatic ensemble.
Her leopard archive also included a darker evening dress featuring sheer dotted mesh, lace accents and leopard-print panels. In another picture, she wore a figure-hugging animal-print dress, finishing it with a black handbag and gold watch for a sleek evening-ready feel.
The print was also given a more polished, coordinated treatment when Shilpa wore a long-sleeved leopard-print crop top with high-waisted trousers. Then came the holiday version. By the beach, she wore a leopard-print bikini that kept the silhouette simple and allowed the print to do all the talking.
And then came the saree
Her latest interpretation arguably made the strongest case for her leopard-print credentials. Shilpa wore an all-over leopard-print saree and paired it with a sharply structured black cropped blouse. The blouse featured a notched, blazer-inspired collar and buttons, bringing a tailored edge to the fluid drape.
From a childhood dress to a beach bikini and now a statement saree, Shilpa's leopard-print journey had covered decades, silhouettes and fashion eras. And if the 2026 animal-print revival needed an OG spokesperson, her wardrobe had already made a pretty convincing case.
