Kiara Advani Announces Second Pregnancy, And We Can't Forget How She Debuted Baby No. 1 At Iconic Met Gala Red Carpet

Baby No. 2 is officially on the way for Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra! The Bollywood couple shared their second pregnancy announcement on October 7, this time introducing fans to the happy news through a sweet family picture with their daughter Saraayah. And just like that, the announcement has brought back memories of Kiara’s first pregnancy, especially the unforgettable way she chose to reveal it to the world.

When Kiara debuted at the Met Gala with her baby bump

Before becoming a mother, Kiara made her Met Gala debut at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2025 with her baby bump proudly on display. The actress also became the first Indian actress to walk the iconic steps while pregnant, and she did it in a look that celebrated her new chapter of motherhood.

For the evening theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Kiara made headlines in a custom Gaurav Gupta ensemble, titled “Bravehearts.” Designed around a sculptural antique-gold breastplate, the black and white gown brought together traditional Indian-inspired detailing and an elaborate contemporary silhouette.

The most meaningful detail was built into the centre of the breastplate. Two sculpted hearts represented Kiara and her then-unborn child, while a chain connecting the two was designed to resemble an umbilical cord. The breastplate was embellished with tiny ghungroos and crystals, giving the metallic creation an exquisite finish.

The ensemble was completed with a dramatic double-panelled cape, which paid tribute to the late fashion editor and style icon André Leon Talley.

Kiara’s jewellery game was equally jaw-dropping, featuring statement gold earrings and multiple chunky rings that adorned almost all her fingers. Her beauty look complemented the elaborate ensemble without competing with it. She wore glowing, dewy makeup and styled her hair in soft, middle-parted waves.

Reflecting on the moment, Kiara said her Met Gala appearance felt especially meaningful because she was experiencing the transition into motherhood while also stepping onto one of fashion’s biggest stages.

"Making my Met Gala debut at this point in my life, as both an artist and mother-to-be feels incredibly special,” she shared in a statement.

She also explained that stylist Anaita approached designer Gaurav with the idea, which eventually became Bravehearts. Kiara described the creation as a reflection of the transformative phase she was entering, while connecting it to the evening’s dress code, “Tailored for You.”

Now, with Kiara and Sidharth announcing their second pregnancy and their daughter Saraayah part of the family moment, that first Met Gala reveal has taken on an even more memorable place in their journey.
