Gadar 2 Actress Ameesha Patel Surrenders In ₹3 Crore Cheque Bounce Case, Hides Face Outside Ranchi Court (WATCH)

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, who was accused of cheating film producer-businessman Ajay Kumar Singh of Rs 3 crore, surrendered in Ranchi on Saturday in connection to a cheque bounce case. Ajay had accused the actress of borrowing Rs 2.5 crore from him under the pretext of making a film, but neither did she ever finish it, nor did she return the money.

Ajay had then accused Ameesha of cheating and money laundering and had dragged her to court, following which a warrant was issued against her on April 6.

Ameesha's business partner Krunal Goomer was also accused in the cheque bounce case.

Ameesha Patel surrenders in cheque bounce case

On Saturday morning, Ameesha surrendered herself in the Ranchi Civil Court in the cheque bounce case. And soon after she surrendered, the actress was granted conditional bail.

A video of the actress leaving the court with her face covered has gone viral on the internet.

She has been asked to physically appear before the court on June 21.

What is Ameesha Patel's cheque bounce case?

It all dates back to 2018 when Ameesha had visited Ranchi to attend an event at the Harmu Ground. Over there, she met Ajay Kumar Singh and convinced him to finance her film titled 'Desi Magic' with Rs 2.5 crore.

But as per Ajay's complaint, Ameesha and her associate Krunal never completed shooting the film, and they promised to return the borrowed sum of Rs 2.5 crore with an interest of Rs 50 lakh.

After much nagging and persuasion, when Ameesha finally handed over two cheques of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh each to Ajay in October 2018, the cheques bounced, thus forcing the filmmaker to take the legal route.

'Desi Magic', which was supposed to be directed by Mehul Atha, reportedly starred Zayed Khan, Ravi Kishan, Sahil Shroff, and Randhir Kapoor in lead roles, along with Ameesha. The actress was set to play a double role in the film, and it was announced in 2013, but it has not seen the light of day till date.
