Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is reportedly out of Aditya Dhar's 'The Immortal Ashwatthama' and the makers of the film are looking for his replacement.
The producer and director have had a clash over the film's cast. Also, Jio Studios is 'pumping money' to keep the movie afloat and have not lowered the budget, according to a report in ETimes.

The report further stated that Aditya, who earlier worked with Vicky in URI: The Surgical Strike, wanted the actor to lead the film. However, Jio Studios was not confident that the venture would then be able to rake in sufficient profits over the huge budget that needed to be invested.
It may be mentioned that Jio Studios stepped in after the original producer Ronnie Screwwala backed out.
About 'The Immortal Ashwatthama'
Billed as a superhero action film, the project is being planned as a trilogy which will be set in modern times. The film will also feature Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role.
Ashwatthama was referenced in the Mahabharata, and this is the first time that a movie is being made about him.

Vicky's upcoming projects
On the work front, Vicky was last seen in Govinda Naam Mera with Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani. He will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur with Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. He also has a yet-untitled film with Sara Ali Khan.
