MP Cabinet Meet: Smart Tablets To Be Provided To Police Officers Investigating Crime Scenes; Govt To Procure Total 25K Tablets

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh cabinet met for the weekly meeting on Tuesday. All the cabinet ministers were present here.

The state cabinet has decided to provide smart tablets to the investigation officers. These tablets with high-definition cameras will help the probing officers click pictures and record videos of the crime scenes for the evidence.

A total of 25000 tablets will be procured. As many as 1732 tablets will be given to selected urban police stations with better internet connectivity in the first phase of the distribution.

Equipping the police officers with smart gadgets will help disseminate case-related information to all the police stations and can prove to be of great help in apprehending the accused, the cabinet concluded.

Discussions were held on several other topics during the Madhya Pradesh cabinet meeting held in the capital on Tuesday.

A discussion was also done to hold an election of the Nagar Pakika chairman in a direct manner, but no final decision has been taken in this regard.

To ensure that people get justice at the earliest, the government has decided to increase the posts of Assistant District Prosecution Officers. These government-appointed officers handle criminal cases at the district and tehsil levels.

The cabinet also decided to increase the capacity of thermal plants to make them ready for large-scale industries across the state.

Delhi Metro Corp to be roped in

The Cabinet approved the proposal to provide consultancy charges to Delhi Metro Corporation for preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Mahakaleshwar Ujjain, Indore, and Pithampur Metro corridor. The consultancy charge will be given at the rate of Rs 9 lakh per km.

610 new posts under Directorate for Public Prosecution

Under the “One Prosecutor Per Court”, the Cabinet has approved a proposal to create 610 posts under the Directorate for Public Prosecution. They include 255 posts of Additional Public Prosecutors and 100 posts of Assistant District Prosecution Officers. This will help the aggrieved get justice expeditiously.

Power purchase

The Cabinet also okayed the proposal to procure power from the 4000 MW capacity thermal power projects proposed to be established in the state. The power purchase will be done at a competitive rate.  From the three developers selected under the issued tender, 800 MW, 1600 MW, and 800 MW power will be procured. Another 800 MW will be purchased from developers by using the provision of “Greenshoe”. 

New solar, wind energy projects 

In order to reduce the operation and maintenance cost of the Village Group Drinking Water Scheme of the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam, the Cabinet approved a proposal to set up a solar energy project and a wind energy project. As per the decision, a 100 MW solar energy and a 60 MW wind energy project will be established in captive mode.  

Govt to take fresh loan of Rs 4800 crore to meet expenditures

State government is going to take fresh loan of Rs 4800 crores to meet its expenditures. It is going to take loan in two installments- Rs 2300 crores and Rs 2500 crores respectively. Currently, the state is having a debt of Rs 4.5 lakh crores.
