Lexus India has opened bookings for the new LX 500d, a luxury SUV designed for both power and elegance. Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the LX 500d promises a refined driving experience with advanced capabilities for on-road comfort and off-road adventures. Combining strength with sophistication, the SUV is available in two variants—LX 500d Urban, priced at Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom), and LX 500d Overtrail, priced at Rs 3.12 crore (ex-showroom).
The Lexus LX 500d is powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine, delivering 304.7bhp and an impressive 700Nm of torque. Designed for both rugged terrains and smooth highways, it features a sturdy ladder-frame chassis that enhances stability while keeping the SUV lightweight. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, ensuring seamless performance across varying conditions. With a standard center-locking differential, the LX 500d offers improved traction and control, making it a capable choice for off-road adventures and refined urban driving alike.
The Lexus LX 500d is equipped with the latest Lexus Safety System +3.0, offering a range of advanced features for enhanced protection. The Pre-Collision System (PCS) helps detect and prevent potential collisions with vehicles and pedestrians, while Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Lane Trace Assist (LTA) reduce driver fatigue by ensuring a smoother drive. Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) aids in safer lane changes, and Safe Exit Assist (SEA) prevents accidents caused by opening doors in unsafe conditions. Lane Departure Assist (LDA) provides gentle steering corrections to keep the vehicle on track, while the Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) and Automatic High Beam (AHB) improve nighttime visibility without dazzling other drivers.
Lexus India has introduced the LX 500d Overtrail, a special variant designed for those who seek both luxury and adventure. This edition features exclusive styling elements, including a black radiator grille, matte grey aluminum wheels, and dark-tone accents on the fog lamp cover, roof rails, and door moldings, enhancing its rugged appeal. Inside, the Overtrail Khaki interior is complemented by Monolith-themed upholstery and Ash Open Pore Sumi Black ornamentation, creating a refined yet off-road-ready ambiance. Adding to its distinct identity, the Overtrail grade debuts the "Moon Desert" body color, a metallic shade that enhances the SUV’s bold and premium presence.
Expressing his views on the announcement, Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice-President, Lexus India, said, "For many years, the LX has been completely reimagined to elevate the drive to unprecedented heights.
