PM Modi, Benjamin Netanyahu Discuss West Asia Tensions & Review India-Israel Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation to discuss recent developments in West Asia and review progress in the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation and agreed to remain in touch amid continuing regional tensions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephone call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, with the two leaders discussing recent developments in West Asia and reviewing progress in the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership.
The conversation came against the backdrop of continuing tensions in West Asia, where the conflict has persisted for more than five months without a permanent resolution.
Leaders review bilateral cooperation
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Modi and Netanyahu reviewed the sustained progress in the strategic partnership between India and Israel.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
"PM Netanyahu and PM Modi exchanged views on the recent developments in West Asia. The two leaders agreed to remain in touch," the statement said.
West Asia tensions continue
The telephone conversation took place as developments across West Asia continued to unfold. Iran said on Thursday that it was in the final stage of drafting an agreement with Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, two Israeli soldiers were reported killed in Lebanon amid the continuing regional tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial global shipping route for energy supplies.
Before the conflict began with US and Israeli strikes on Iran in February, around one-fifth of the world's oil and natural gas supplies passed through the strategic waterway.
